Get the Skills to Begin a Career as an Electrical Technician in as few as 10 Months
From specialty trade contractors to communications companies, today’s Electrical Technicians can work for a variety of employers. Many Electrical Technicians work for residential contractors or commercial builders. Day to day job duties may include reading electrical blueprints, wiring and installation of junction boxes, outlet boxes and lighting. Manufacturing companies and factories also employ Electrical Technicians to install and maintain their complex electrical equipment and machinery. Communications and technology companies utilize technicians to install various types of cable, splice and prepare cable connections, and test signal efficiencies. Additional employment opportunities may include security companies, home improvement and home entertainment installation, civil traffic departments, healthcare facilities and more.

Licenses, Certifications, Credentials
There are no state-based licensing requirements in Pennsylvania for general electrical work. Certain counties, townships or cities may have their own requirements, so students are encouraged to research regulations in the areas they intend to work.

Delivery of Hybrid Instruction
On Campus Labs
- Campus Lab Hours Day Program: 9am – 3pm
- 2-3 Lab sessions per week, based on course needs
- Campus Lab Hours Evening Program: 5pm – 9pm
- 2-3 Lab sessions per week, based on course needs
Online Learning
- Students will need approximately 25-30 hours per week for instruction, activities, labs, reading assignments, and homework
- All materials are accessible in an asynchronous format 24 hours a day/7 days a week
- First week includes acclimation to the systems
