Veterinary Technician
Your love of animals can become your career!
YTI's Veterinary Technician program graduates will be proficient in animal anatomy and physiology, nutrition, breeding, husbandry, sanitation, behavior, handling, nursing, euthanasia, and necropsy for various animal species. These skills will prepare you for employment as a veterinary technician in veterinary practices, universities, research facilities, pharmaceutical companies, zoos, or other areas where the skills of a vet technician are needed.
In addition to your classroom and lab training on campus, portions of the Veterinary Technician program will be taught at Leg Up Farm and White Oak Farm. At these locations, you will learn and practice skills with large animals including horses and cows.
At YTI Career Institute, training starts with employment as the goal. The YTI experience combines qualified instruction with the medical facilities, equipment and instruments you'd find on your first day of work. In addition, your externship will prepare you with the working knowledge and skills you'll need as an important part of a veterinary team.
