Respiratory Therapy Program
Career Training and Trade School in Altoona, PA
YTI Career Institute is no longer accepting new enrollments into the Respiratory Therapy (RT) program. Currently enrolled students will be provided the opportunity to complete the program through an approved teach-out plan in accordance with institutional, accreditor, and state requirements.
Important Notice to Current Students
YTI Career Institute–Altoona has been placed on Warning status by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC) as of June 9, 2026. This action does not remove the institution’s accreditation, and YTI Career Institute–Altoona remains accredited while addressing the matters identified by ACCSC.
Summary of the Reasons for the Warning
ACCSC’s Warning action is based on two compliance matters:
- The institution must submit an Institutional Teach-Out Plan, which is required documentation related to the Respiratory Therapy program and campus operations.
- The institution must demonstrate that ACCSC approval is obtained before implementing substantive changes to an occupational associate degree program, specifically how the hands-on training in the clinical experiences is administered and structured within the Respiratory Therapy program.
The Commission has requested additional information from the institution and will review the school’s response at a future meeting. The school remains accredited during this process.
