Imagine America Scholarships
YTI Career Institute’s (YTI) Lancaster and York campuses offer scholarship opportunities to qualified applicants – three of which are through the Imagine America Foundation IAF). The Imagine America Scholarship has three separate programs: Adult Skills Education Program, High School
Scholarship, and Military Award Program. Each program is available to differing student populations and can be applied for on the Imagine America Foundation website. Individuals can also apply for scholarships on the Imagine American Foundation app.
The application process is similar for all three scholarship programs. This includes creating an online account, completing a profile and choosing the scholarship you’ll be applying for.
Adult Skills Education Program Award
There are certain qualifications an individual must meet in order to be eligible for this scholarship program through YTI. These are:
- Be enrolled in a participating college or career school
- Meet eligibility requirements of their school
- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Be at least 19 years of age
- Have a high school diploma or GED
- Not have received any previous scholarships/awards from the Imagine American Foundation
- Demonstrate financial need
Submit the application, complete the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) Educational Success Potential Assessment and watch the Financial Planning Made Simple (FPMS) video, both provided by IAF. After watching the video, click the “Submit and Complete” button for the application to be sent to PCI to review.
Imagine America High School Scholarship Program
For 2021 high school graduates, the deadline to apply for the High School Scholarship is December 2021. For 2022 high school graduates, the application period runs from September 2021 to December 2022. There are certain qualifications a student must meet to be eligible for this scholarship program. These include:
- High school graduate within the appropriate timeframe
- Likelihood of successful completion of postsecondary education
- High school grade point average of 2.5 or higher
- Demonstrated voluntary community service during senior year
- Indicated financial need
After identifying your high school and submitting your application, you must watch the Financial Planning Made Simple (FPMS) video provided by the foundation. Your application will be sent to your high school guidance counselor for approval, and then on to PCI.
Military Award Program
The Military Award Program was created to help service members receive career education and transition into civilian life. This program was established in 2004 and provides a $1,000 award to qualified honorably discharged, retired veteran, reservist, or active-duty individuals of the United States military service branch.
Qualifications for this scholarship program include:
- Be enrolled in a participating college or career school
- Active duty, reservist, honorably discharged, or retired veteran of the U.S. military
- Not previously received any other Imagine American Foundation awards/scholarships
- Likelihood of enrolling and successfully completed a postsecondary education
- Demonstrate financial need
