Navigating Online Trade School
Since COVID-19 hit, a lot of things have been going remote; jobs and education being big parts of that. With this new switch, it may be confusing on how important things, like school, can be done online. At YTI Career Institute, online learning is a big part of how students get educated in the program they are enrolled in.
While it may seem like some programs are challenging to do online, there are ways that students can get the online and in-person teaching they need to be prepared for the career field they're looking to enter. With technological advancements and programs like Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard, and Desire2Learn, online education has become more accessible. This has then, in turn, made it easier for individuals like military veterans, single parents, and individuals looking to start a new career to jump back into the education world.
The demand for skilled trade workers is on the rise. This increases the need for trade school education, which can mean that online learning will be a great option for getting a higher education credential.
At YTI, the programs are delivered in an online format. Some are "hybrid" or "blended" requiring "on-ground" work such as clinical rotations at approved sites for the Respiratory Therapy program or on-campus labs for the HVACR program, in addition to the online didactic education. However, there are some program offerings that can be completed fully online, such as Computer and Data Management (CDM). Online learning may be a challenge, but it doesn't have to be impossible. With the right setup, such as the ones YTI offers, getting a trade credential online might end up being the best option for your schedule.
