What is Included in the HVACR Program?

At YTI Career Institute - York (YTI), students can enroll in the HVACR (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration) program that can be completed in as few as 12 months. This program is offered in a hybrid format, with lectures online and labs on campus. Graduates earn a diploma, and have the opportunity to earn their 30 hours OSHA Certification and EPA Certification.

There are several courses that students take within the HVACR program at YTI. Some of these include:

  • Mechanical for Gas
  • Hydronic and Control Systems
  • Piping Principles
  • Core Refrigeration
  • Core Air Conditioning
  • Trade Skills
  • Electrical for Oil
  • Mechanical for Oil

While enrolled in the program, students will also learn important skills and techniques that will assist them in their career paths. Among these are:

  • How to troubleshoot A/C, refrigeration, and heating systems
  • How to braze and solder
  • How to work with 3 phase, single phase, and low voltage
  • How to adjust gas and oil furnaces and hot water heat systems
  • How to use volt, ohm, and amp meters
  • How to measure air flow
